Le pape François a franchi lundi 30 novembre un pas hautement symbolique dans sa démarche de réconciliation en Centrafrique (lire ici). Il s'est rendu à la mosquée centrale de Bangui, dans le quartier du PK-5, théâtre d'atrocités pendant les massacres intercommunautaires de la fin 2013.

Dimanche 29 novembre, le pape François avait été accueilli triomphalement dimanche à Bangui. Il a demandé aux Centrafricains de résister à «la peur de l'autre», quelle que soit sa religion ou son ethnie. Dans la soirée, il a ouvert dans la cathédrale «une porte sainte» en signe de repentance et de réconciliation.
